About

Built by people who've closed the books.

Assertion is built for preparers and reviewers – by a CPA who has been both, and an engineer who builds AI that can stand up to review.

Portrait of Kah H Liew

Kah H Liew

Co-founder & CEO

Kah spent sixteen years on both sides of the close – auditing it at PwC, then owning it as Controller and startup operator at Ultima Genomics, and VP of Finance at DNAnexus. CPA; Wharton MBA. Assertion’s review model is the one Kah spent a career wishing existed.

Portrait of Wei Theng Lau

Wei Theng Lau

Co-founder & CTO

Wei Theng spent ten years taking machine-learning and LLM systems from data pipeline to production at Intel and XR Extreme – and knows exactly where AI output breaks down when nobody can inspect it. That’s the failure Assertion is built to prevent.

Why review

Plenty of tools promise an autonomous close. We build for the part that actually blocks adoption: review. If your reviewer can't see why a number is what it is, it doesn't matter how fast the machine produced it. Assertion makes AI work reviewable – the same way spreadsheet work always has been.

The roadmap

Our roadmap isn't a category – it's a list of whatever costs preparers and reviewers meaningful hours. This is informed by the founding team's deep domain expertise. Every conversation with an accountant since has added to it. We build down the list, whichever category it lands us in.

Early pilot

We're onboarding a handful of early teams.

Tell us where your close hurts. That answer doesn't go to a sales queue – it goes to the founders who write the roadmap. Pilot teams get early access, and first say in what we build next.
